Duke Krepin Rothstayler is the Patriarch of the Ducal Rothstayler family as well as the father of Ed Rothstayler and Tanya Rothstayler. He is one of the richest and strongest figures within the empire as well as the head of its most powerful noble family. He is seen as a wise and benevolent Duke by the public however he harbours dark secrets. He is first mentioned as disowning his son by royal command as Ed had insulted Princess Penia and first appears when trying to purchase a treasure from the academy.

He had a sharp jawline and eyes that didn’t match his age. He was a peculiar person that didn’t make any unnecessary movements, while at the same time giving off an aura of gentleness and class. You could tell with just one look that he was not an ordinary person. He had the vigor to make others intimidated just by glancing towards them.
Personality[]
Krepin is a duplicitous man, able to hide his evil intentions behind a dignified and benevolent outward demeanor. His skill at maintaining this charade is at a level where only special abilities, such as Princess Penia's Eye of Truth, can detect his true disposition. He apparently set high standards for his children, disowning Ed Rothstaylor for his embarrassing antics at Sylvenia Academy. He wrote a letter for his youngest daughter to read as she traveled to Sylvenia, advising her to remain humble and behave respectfully as well as recommending her some individuals she she ally herself with. In line with his secretly dark intentions, he moved quickly to attempt to secure needed items and resources for his dark plans and is willing to pay even well beyond market price to obtain them.

- Extreme magic power: As Ed noted, in all playthroughs of the game, Krepin was the final boss and is the strongest enemy Taylee's party would face. His power is so strong that it would require a very specific skill set and level of power to defeat him. Ed was afraid of how much more powerful Krepin would have became if he obtained the Sealed Tome of the Sage from Sylvenia Academy and took action to prevent this plot deviation from happening.
